New Direction

Dear Reader,

My Story

As a natural creative, crafter, writer and artist I have in the past had multiple avenues down which I have shared my creative ideas.

The first was Old English Creations which is a crochet blog and has been going since 2012, so over 13 years, and more recently Alison Hazel Art since 2019, so about seven years.

Additionally, I do astrology over at Starzology.com.

Time and Energy

As the years go by, I realize that I only have so much time, and more importantly so much energy, with which to focus on my creative endeavors.

Summer 2026

This summer I'm combining all the crochet, craft, art and travel under one umbrella called Heathcote Living.

⠀

Name Origin

My maiden name is Heathcote so that is why I chose this name.

The root of the surname means "the cottage on the heath" and the cottager, who is the person, who lives there.

That’s just by the by.

United We Stand

So, in discussion with my business advisor, Sam, he suggested that I unite all I that I do into one bucket.

My interests are generally crochet, hobby art, craft, wellbeing, travel and living solo in later years.

S-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d

I felt that I was spread too thin and that there were other things, like travel and wellbeing, which I couldn’t easily fit either into art or craft.

So, I decided to sunset Old English Creations (the crochet blog) and Alison Hazel Art (the hobby art blog) to make way for a fresh start with Heathcote Living.​

This begins with this email and will roll out during summer 2026.

This is what I'll be sharing and chatting about in the future through this new newsletter Heathcote Living and on my shiny new Heathcote Living website.
