Coach from Vancouver to Whistler
Read on the web.
Hi Reader,
If you're anything like me, you may sometimes focus so much on reaching a destination that you forget the journey itself can be part of the experience.
⠀
⠀
Coach
Last month I travelled from Vancouver to Whistler for my annual spring writing retreat.
This year I went alone and decided to take the coach along the beautiful Sea to Sky Highway rather than drive.
⠀
Journey
When we think about getting away for a creative break, we often concentrate on where we're staying or what we'll accomplish once we arrive.
Yet there can be something surprisingly restorative about handing over the responsibility of driving, settling into a comfortable seat and simply watching the world pass by.
⠀
Relaxing
Travelling solo by coach turned out to be far more relaxing than I expected. I enjoyed the coastal views, arrived refreshed and found that the retreat had already begun before I reached my hotel.
The journey became a gentle transition between everyday life and a few days dedicated to writing, reflection and creativity.
⠀
Return
After three peaceful days in Whistler, I made the return trip home feeling rested and grateful.
While coach travel may take a little longer than driving, the ease and simplicity made it a worthwhile choice.
Sometimes slowing down is part of the gift.
